Facts About Town Hall
Organization Profile
Town Hall of Cleveland was formed in 1931, making it the nation's longest,
consecutively running speaker series. It is a not-for-profit organization,
registered under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS as an Ohio Corporation.
The organization is managed by its trustees in the interest of public
education and information.
Town Hall and Cleveland State University will partner for the 2006-2007
Season. This partnership reflects the goals of both organizations to
bring education and information to Northeast Ohio.
Mission Statement
The mission of Town Hall of Cleveland is to educate and to inform, through
an annual series of public lectures, an audience of attentive and active
citizenry in northern Ohio, promoting no particular social or political
agenda other than to enrich the depth and quality of the public discourse
essential to a free society.
Audience
The meetings of Town Hall of Cleveland are open to everyone with a ticket.
Among those who attend are persons from a wide range of business professions,
civic activists, religious, social and labor leaders, artists, politicians,
teachers and students. Seven lectures are held, between September and
March, on Monday evenings at 6:00 PM at the Ohio Theatre, Playhouse Square
Center.
