Kyle Maynard
Winning Scholastic Wrestler, Author of No Excuses
"No Excuses!"

Kyle Maynard has been called "one of the most amazing athletes that ever lived." He was born with a condition known as congenital amputation, with arms that end at the elbows and legs that end near his knees. His strong desire to wrestle and his coach's decision to let him try enabled him to become a very successful high school varsity wrestler on one of the best teams in the Southeast.

Kyle began weight training as a youngster and can now lift nearly 400 pounds. Recently, he set the World Record in the modified bench press at the Arnold Fitness Classic with a bench of 360 pounds. He has received an ESPY Award (Best Athlete with a Disability), and was listed in the ESPN 100, among the top 100 sports figures and stories in 2004. He also received the 2004 President's Award for the Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame.

Kyle credits his faith, his parents and his wrestling coach in helping him experience the triumphs in his life. After attending and wrestling at the University of Georgia, he plans to open a fitness center and motivate people to stay fit.
